One thing that SNP Campaigns Director, Angus Robertson, cannot be accused of is a lack of optimistic creativity (or should that be creative optimism?).
Whilst most commentators highlighted the drop in separatist sentiment highlighted in this latest opinion poll, Angus saw something quite different:
“A clear majority of people across Scotland are rejecting the constitutional status quo on offer from the No campaign and choosing a positive change and progress for their country.”
The poll revealed that 50% of those sampled (as opposed to 30%) preferred the continuation of the Union.
“As an independent country we will have the economic levers to create new jobs and the responsibility for welfare to protect the vulnerable – increasing opportunities for our young people to realise their career ambitions. It is only with independence that we can see Trident removed from our shores and the people of Scotland take all the decisions on their future.
Only 30% declared in favour of Scottish secession.
“This poll puts further pressure on the anti-independence parties who are offering nothing to Scotland.
Well, in light of the two previous pieces of data, that’s certainly an original interpretation

Bang goes another Irish republican fantasy. Not so very long ago they were boasting that the Scottish would do the job of breaking up the United Kingdom for them.
