There is a basic flaw in the statement on your website.
Should Scotland leave the union. Then as the Treaty of Union 1707 would be revoked. The nation state of the United Kingdom of Scotland , England , Wales and Ulster would no longer exist.
The countries titles would then be pre 1707
Namely Scotland. Then England encompassing the principality of Wales and the province of Ulster ( Ireland now of course a free state )
Both states would have to negotiate terms of entry as successor nations. please note there are only 2 countries in the UK at present.
It is this presumption of UK = England that continues to turn so many Scots to the idea that we can have a stronger voice in the EU by speaking for ourselves.
You only have to look at Edward Heaths statement ” If the price of entry to the common market is the destruction of the Scottish fishing industry, then it is a price worth paying” the McCrone report shamefully kept secret gives the game away on the negotiating strength of Scotland with the EU.
Until the supporters of the Union come clean regarding past action taken which were not in Scotlands best interest, show some contrition and an action plan to correct such wrongs where possible. Then the Unionist cause will continue to lose the argument. I have yet to meet a Unionist to do this, most just hang their head in shame.
You cannot run away from this as it will be brought up on doorstep after doorstep.
Talking Scotland down is not going to get you No votes.
So come clean Apologise and then a principled debate can take place. Not the litiny of lies and missinformation that is coming from the Unionist camp.
