This advert, for new Pixar film Brave, ran in today’s Times:
Not only is the advert strapline a direct reference to the United Kingdom, but if the subtext were in any doubt (unity of a kingdom is a plot point, albeit not one normally thrust to the front of the marketing) the fletching on Merida’s arrow has been recoloured red, white and blue, a little detail absent from the film.
Robbie Coltrane has accused First Minister Alex Salmond of attempting to ‘hijack’ the film. Has this prompted the new, union-friendly ad campaign?
