According to ITV yesterday:
“Plaid Cymru are launching a report at Westminster later today, which the party says demonstrates the advantages to Wales of gaining direct membership of the European Union. It argues that there would be more Welsh political clout in the EU than at present and Wales would be able to better protect its own national interests. “
That report apparently bore the rather clumsy title of “The ascent of autonomous nations” and was allegedly produced by a “Brussels Think Tank”.
The author mentioned on the front cover, Matthew Bumford, however, works for Plaid Cymru’s Jill Evans in Brussels.
Anyway… down to this this report.
Except not, as it is not available anywhere online (even at the Plaid Cymru website) and hasn’t been reported anywhere else other than ITV.
Does it exist?
This line makes me believe yes, it does.
However, the report also demonstrates why the existing member states might obstruct this process.
Perhaps Mr Salmond has ordered it to be censored “in the public interest”?
